We enable event recording service for your live event. Your event can be automatically transcoded by our service and turn into compatible VOD content to multiple platforms. Therefore, users can watch videos at any suitable time after event ends. Mark the checkbox if you want to utilize event recording when you create your live event.
- DRM and resolution will match with your live event. For example, when you set event streaming as HD with DRM, VOD will display HD resolution with DRM as well.
- After you click "End live" button to end the live event, event status will change from "Live" to "Encoding". Next, when VOD is ready to play, the status will change from "Encoding" to "VOD". If you want to know the event status of whole process, please look into What is the meaning of each status on CMS ? for more details.
- Once live event’s actual end time is later than "VOD start time”, notification message will be shown in Control room. Please confirm if "VOD start time" and "VOD end time” need any adjustment, otherwise VOD will be published automatically when recording finishes.
- When it is time to publish VOD, yet recording for VOD is still in progress, notification message will be shown in Control room. Please make sure if "VOD start time" and "VOD end time" need any adjustment, otherwise VOD will be published automatically when recording finishes.
If you want to play an edited source content after a live event. You can take another option to provide a VOD playback after, which is to leverage Blendvision LOOM. Please follow the step below:
- First, you have to register a BlendVision LOOM account and create a project for uploading content. Please refer to the article above.
- After you’ve finished the setting of the project in BlendVision LOOM, you can upload your content via the methods described in the link.
- When the status of your encoding job starts, you can get the jobID from the page of encoding status. And after acquiring your jobID, you can get the information of the API key from the general tab of the project setting page.
- Enter the two information items: jobID and API key into your VOD replacement module, which is on the event setting page after you’ve selected the VOD replacement checkbox.
- The VOD replaced from LOOM will be ready status, once Moment finished the distribution process to broadcast. You should get the above steps done before the scheduled VOD start time, or the start time would be delayed due to the late uploading.
Note:
1. Recording time for VOD will take at least twice as long as live event time. For example, an hour-long live event will take 2 hours for recording to VOD.
2. Recording for VOD can only record up to 8-hour-long live events.
